Jardin de Kerdalo

In a valley sloping towards the Jaudy River, opposite the town of Tréguier, artist Peter Prince Volkonski has designed the 17 hectares of the Jardin de Kerdalo like a living painting with a strong color concept and water as a common thread. Italian terraces, an English garden and a meadow meet around the manor house. Also pools, cascades, a water staircase, a grotto, pavilions, bas-reliefs made of shells. In 2021, shoe designer Christian Louboutin acquired the garden from Volkonski's daughter.

Jardin de Kestellic

Classified garden Remarkable garden (and its small Breton manor classified as a “Historic Monument”), with an area of 6 hectares, is located on slopes of pink granite. It overlooks the Jaudy river and benefits from a particularly sheltered exposure and an exceptional view of the river and the pretty town of Tréguier. It is crossed by winding paths, decorated with pools, waterfalls and streams.

Marquis Yan de Kerouartz bought this property in 1947. Having noticed the exceptional microclimate of the place, he began in the years 1965/70 to introduce and plant numerous exotic species, originating from distant lands. Natural Mediterranean vegetation exists (arbis trees, mulberries, myrtles, holm oaks, cork oaks) but also more than 200 Japanese maples.

The garden has a part located in a deep valley. Water is everywhere in the form of reservoirs, pools or waterfalls. It is in this humid, almost jungle atmosphere that lush plants such as banana trees and one of the most beautiful French collections of large tree ferns grow.

Jardin de Pellinec

An intoxicating array of colours, with the sea as a backdrop and an abundance of flowers. The shrubs flower in April and May, the perennials and irises in June and July, and the water lilies in August.  The design of the garden gives priority to composition and colour harmony, with 1,500 varieties of plants. The 4 hectares are divided into several themes: the exotic garden, the iris garden, the English garden, the southern garden, the Himalayan alley and the water lily pond, which juxtaposes the sea.

Jardin exotique de Roscoff

On an 18-metre-high granite cliff, the garden offers a panoramic view of the Bay of Morlaix from its observation tower. Rock formations, water features, cascades, pools and fountains amaze visitors. Created in 1987 by Roscoffer hotelier Daniel Person, the exotic garden now boasts more than 3. 400 different plants spread over 1.6 hectares: exotic plant species from the southern hemisphere (South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Brazil), the Atlantic islands (Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores) as well as Mexican cacti or palm trees from China... The Roscoff garden is also home to renowned national collections as well as hundreds of eucalyptus plants, tree ferns and South African bulbous plants.

Jardin de Rosanbo

Originally a fortress in the 14th century, then a Gothic manor house, the castle was enlarged. At the end of the 19th century, Henri Le Peletier, Marquis de Rosanbo, undertook a complete remodelling. He entrusted the design of the park to the landscape architect Achille Duchêne (1866-1947), who was famous for his neoclassical restorations at a time when people were becoming more aware of their cultural heritage. The most beautiful example of this is Vaux-le-Vicomte, the first ‘jardin à la française’.

The old four-hectare orchard has been redesigned for equestrian sports, games and walks. The nine groups of trees and the ‘Salles de Verdures’ are bordered by a 2,500 metre long palisade of hornbeams, 500 metres of which are in the style of an architectural vault, a very rare example and one of the longest pergolas in France. The park follows a logical progression: interplays of shadow and light, vistas and surprising effects in regular succession. It is one of the most unusual historical gardens.

Jardin de La Roche Jagu

The park of La Roche Jagu is an outstanding work of contemporary landscape design inspired by medieval elements. It combines lush ‘Tregor’ vegetation with creative landscape architecture. The medieval Château de la Roche Jagu with its garden, which slopes gently down towards the valley, is perched on a rock above the Trieux. The harmony of the horticultural and architectural features make La Roche Jagu an enchanting place full of inspiration. The special architecture of the manor house, which was rebuilt in the 15th century, was used for both defence and residential purposes.

The more recent park was created after the original woodland area was destroyed by a hurricane in 1987. Today, garden areas from the past and present offer an experience for all the senses. Water is omnipresent here. Gardens with edible plants, medicinal plants and all kinds of exotic species, as well as other garden areas, are first-class attractions.
